This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities pertaining to the Perishable Division to drive sales and profitability to the Company. The personnel in the Perishable Division report directly to the Director of Perishables.

| Requirements |
- To qualify for this position, you must have at least 10 years experience in the Specialty Perishable business and have a history of successfully managing people.
- A working knowledge of the Vendor/Broker community is desired.
- Essential skills would require strong communication skills both written and verbal, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, multi-tasking ability and a sense of urgency.
- Having a team building mentality and passion for future leader development is part of DPI’s culture and is necessary.
- A working understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and Oracle experience would be a plus.

| Essential duties and responbilities include the following |
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all Account Executives associated with the Deli/Dairy/Bakery side of the perishable business.
- Develop marketing plans and initiatives to drive sales and expand customer penetration to meet budgeted margin dollars.
- Identify and bring in new items to keep sales growing to offset products that fail or are taken directly into our customers warehouses.
- Manage the inventory asset to acceptable levels of aged inventory while limiting losses due to overstock and meeting fill rate expectations of the company and our customers.
- Establish short and long range goals for the division by Account Executive.
- Assume the responsibility for Budgeted Inventory Management, margin, data integrity, operations, and personnel development in division.
- Develop a succession plan for all key personnel in the Division.
- Represent the Company both socially and professionally in trade, marketing, retailer, and vendor/broker events.
- Limited amount of travel required for industry events, Trade Shows or out of market HQ calls.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for all direct reporting personnel.
- Call on at least 1 customer directly to keep in touch with the market.
- Confer with the VP of Sales & Marketing to discuss potential changes in goals or objectives made necessary by changes in the market.
- Serve as a Senior Manager on Management Committee’s or Special Projects.
